The Loan Processing Specialist supports the bank’s lending operations by preparing, reviewing, and processing commercial, real estate, and consumer loan documentation while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely loan closings. This role coordinates loan file progress, clears closing conditions, and helps ensure all regulatory and policy requirements are met. Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and process commercial, real estate, SBA, construction, consumer, and other loan documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to approved loan terms.
  • Coordinate the loan closing process, including ordering and reviewing title work, UCC searches, flood determinations, inspections, and other required documentation.
  • Verify entity documentation, ownership structures, and signing authority to ensure proper loan execution and regulatory compliance.
  • Accurately disburse loan proceeds, process loan payoffs, credit inquiries, and closing-related invoices.
  • Manage collateral perfection activities, including recording documents, UCC filings, and tracking receipt of recorded instruments.
  • Monitor loan files before and after closing, clear exceptions, track outstanding documentation, and ensure complete and accurate loan records.
  • Support construction lending by coordinating advances, inspections, and title updates in accordance with bank policies.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance requirements, including adverse action notices, HMDA reporting, flood insurance regulations, and other applicable lending regulations.
  • Utilize bank systems to research loan and deposit information while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with lenders and internal teams to resolve issues, improve workflow efficiency, and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain current knowledge of banking products, lending procedures, regulatory requirements, and bank policies through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in loan documentation or loan operations
  • Experience with title work, flood determinations, and construction loan advances preferred
  • In-depth understanding of financial institution products, services, and applicable laws and regulations (SBA, ECOA, HMDA, Flood)
  • Knowledge of commercial, construction, real estate and consumer loan processing is helpful
  • Technological skills in personal computer operation; bank core processing system; Microsoft Office: word processing, spreadsheet and specialty software programs.
  • Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

 

Physical Requirements:

  • This position requires extensive or prolonged typing/keyboarding.
  • This position requires up to 10% travel, which may include traveling to other branch locations for training or meetings.
  • This position requires sitting, talking and the ability to use your hands over 66% of the time.
