Tellers are vital to our business at the i3 Bank.  They are accountable for providing outstanding customer service and developing long-term relationships with our customers.  This role covers a broad range of duties including accurate and efficient transaction processing, identifying and serving the needs of our customers and recommending additional bank products and services to new and existing customers. 

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Greet customers, accept deposits and cash checks using computer to enter transactions and perform various customer service-related duties.
  • Maintain a well-developed, current, working knowledge of the complete line of products and services offered.
  • Practice a high awareness of customer confidentiality, security, and safety and internal control procedures.
  • Provide personalized banking services to current and prospective customers, consistently seeking to expand customer relationships (cross-selling) and provide the highest-level customer service.
  • Identify fraudulent activity to help prevent potential losses.
  • Responsible for opening and closing deposit accounts and any related transactions or questions.
  • Originate customer calls to ensure customer satisfaction and to refer business.
  • Call current clients to provide awareness on service updates.
  • Balance teller drawer several times daily and at the end of each shift to ensure compliance with bank over/short policy.
  • Control, maintain, secure cash drawer within established limits.
  • Be responsible for the opening and closing of the branch following established policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Fiserv experience desired.
  • Strong management and business development skills.
  • Effective selling and cross-selling skills.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of customer service practices and principles.
  • Ability to function as a team player.
  • Ability to make sound decisions quickly and accurately.

  • This position requires visual acuity at 20 inches (or less) over 66% of the time.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift 10 to 50 pounds.
  • Extensive use of PC during the day - utilizing continuous viewing.
  • High amount of workflow to work efficiently, accurately and to maintain good customer relations.
  • Ability to talk to communicate on phone and in person; read and interpret documents such as regulatory, policy manuals and procedures.
  • Must-have reasoning ability to convey detailed instructions in writing and verbally; problem solving to handle multiple situations and issues in a calm manner.
  • Ability to hear normal conversations and receive information and converse with others.
  • Will utilize a computer to perform daily duties and to prepare documents, using dexterity and hands for typing, physically moving and handling documents, etc.
  • Ability to follow detailed and general instructions, basic math skills.
