Position Summary: The QA Engineer I is an entry-level role focused on learning and applying foundational testing principles to ensure software quality. This role supports the QA team by executing test cases, identifying defects, and participating in Agile ceremonies. You’ll gain hands-on experience in manual testing, exploratory testing, and basic automation exposure while working alongside experienced QA professionals.

Essential Functions:

  • Write and execute manual test cases and document results.
  • Identify and report defects with clear, reproducible steps.
  • Perform additional testing such as exploratory, regression, and accessibility testing.
  • Serve as a primary tester on projects with vendors or internally developed applications.
  • Collaborate with developers and QA peers to understand features and provide feedback.
  • Learn and write basic automation scripts with mentorship from experienced QA peers.
  • Engage with test environments and manage basic test data.
  • Work within Agile frameworks including Scrum and Kanban.
  • Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws and regulations applicable to their role, complete compliance training and follow internal processes and controls, as required.
  • Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
  • Perform other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of commercial software testing or related experience.
  • Exposure to automated scripting tools and languages such as Playwright and TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with defect tracking tools and basic troubleshooting.
  • Experience with test case management tools and writing test cases.
  • Emerging understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
  • Valid Nebraska Driver’s License.

Working Environment:

Indoor work, not exposed to outdoor elements or hazards.

This role is eligible for hybrid work from home opportunity under the work from home guidelines upon completion of onboarding. This is typically two set in-office days per week and three days of remote work from home.
