If you can answer “Yes” to these questions, Heartland Bank may have a career opportunity for you.  Heartland Bank is a growing organization seeking a talented accountant/auditor to join our Bank’s Finance Team.  The position could be located at any Heartland Bank Branch, with travel to the Geneva headquarters expected on a weekly basis.

What is the role of the Bank’s Accountant/Auditor?

The position includes responsibilities for accounting, analysis, and reporting for various aspects of the Bank’s financial performance for Bank management, regulators, auditors, and associates.

What will you do as the Bank’s Accountant/Auditor?

Among the various duties of the Bank Accountant/Auditor, you will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on a variety of financial performance processes, to include: daily correspondent banking balance reporting, investment accounting, monthly board reporting, accounts payable, public fund pledging, general ledger auditing, call report preparation, personal property and real estate taxes.  Along with the duties there is an expectation of regularly reviewing processes to improve efficiencies.

What education/experience is preferred for the Bank’s Accountant/Auditor?

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or related field
  • Two to four years of accounting and financial experience
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and government regulations
  • Knowledge of Business Analytics, DocuSign, and/or Nintex RPA
