Senior Business Banking Specialist

Position Summary: The Omaha Sr. Business Banking Specialist is responsible for the customer service for Omaha commercial loan customers and for coordinating the pre-closing transaction between all involved parties from application through closing. In addition, this position is responsible for ongoing file maintenance of the portfolio.

Essential Functions:

1. Demonstrate thorough understanding of all bank policies including bank loan policy, government regulations, and compliance requirements involving commercial lending. 
2. Support loan officer by helping to coordinate all steps of the loan transaction, from application to closing. 
3. Complete borrower checklist and documentation request packet checklist. 
4. Ensure proper approval for note requests and any variances from loan presentation summary prior to document preparation. 
5. Communicate with loan officer, customer, and documentation preparation loan assistant to determine closing date. 
6. Assemble documentation packet completely, and ensure adherence to all bank policies, including bank loan policy, government regulations, and compliance requirements, as well as matching terms of commitment letters, if applicable. Communicate with loan officer and/or customer to gather any deficiencies. 
7. Submit documentation request packet to documentation prep loan assistants
8. Prepare closed loans for funding, send to be input
9. Complete Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) worksheet. 
10. Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers in person, on the phone, via email and through written correspondence.  Answer questions and refer inquiries when necessary. 
11. Process payments: review and process non-sufficient funds, (NSF), non-posts, loan disbursements, participation transactions, draw requests, payoff calculations, and wires. 
12. Service existing loan files including borrowing base calculations, covenant compliance, financials, and other portfolio management and servicing that includes customer contact as needed.  
13. Serve as back-up to other loan operation assistants and back-up Treasury Management as needed. 
14. Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws, and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training; follow internal processes and controls as required.
15. Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
16. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position. 
17. Perform other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Strong knowledge of commercial lending and loan requirements, loan documentation, collateral evaluation, lien perfection and local, state, and federal regulatory requirements preferred. 
2. Minimum of 5 years commercial loan experience preferred.     
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Products and in working with other bank software.
