Position:  VP – Compliance/BSA Officer 

Location: Any location within the Five Points Bank Markets (Omaha, Elkhorn, LaVista, Lincoln, Grand Island, Kearney, or Hastings)

Department: Compliance/Operations

Supervisor:  CEO/Chairman

Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of all aspects of the Bank’s Compliance Program.  This position plans, organizes, and controls the Bank’s day to day compliance activities.

Essential Functions: 

  • Assure compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
  • Maintain a proficient knowledge of all applicable banking rules, regulations as well as regulatory changes.  Determine how they will affect the bank.  Keep employees informed of any changes and answer any related questions as they arise.
  • Conduct periodic and ongoing testing of compliance with laws and regulations and develop corrective action plans where applicable.
  • Provide regulatory guidance and support to the various departments within the bank.
  • Conduct various quality control reviews and monitor the area of Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, Anti-Money Laundering, OFAC, and Customer Identification Program
  • Make necessary preparations for independent third party audits and regulatory exams; assist in responses to the auditors or examiners; and ensure deficiencies identified from audits/examinations are corrected.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable reporting and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Develop, initiate, maintain and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of the compliance program and its related activities to comply with applicable regulatory guidance.
  • Supervise the department personnel to ensure compliance with applicable compliance regulations of Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) regulations.
  • Assist with the internal and external compliance audit functions.
  • Maintain the bank’s Unfair, Deceptive or Abusive Acts and Practices (UDAAP) program and perform reviews of new products, disclosures, and advertisements to ensure compliance; track consumer complaints and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Chair Compliance Committee, prepare agenda, information packet, and maintain minutes.
  • Coordinate Regulation D and Regulation O Compliance.
  • Chair SAR Committee; make determination to file or not file the SAR.
  • Review SARs filed and provide SARs to Senior Management and the Board.
  • Attend Board meetings as needed to review reports or provide Board training.
  • Serve on various bank committees as assigned
  • Responsible for internal controls in the Compliance Department
  • All other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility: Yes, Compliance Officers – AVP Compliance, Assistant Compliance, and BSA Compliance Staff

Status/Standard Schedule:  Salary position, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with additional hours per department needs.
