SUMMARY OF JOB

The Customer Service Representative serves as the primary point of contact for customers and non-customers by providing prompt, courteous and effective customer service; representing the Bank in a professional manner; and being alert to customer needs. Ensures all transactions are completed efficiently and accurately, while maintaining customer confidentiality. Responsible for balancing all financial transactions performed during work shift.

The Universal Banker creates an exceptional customer experience by building and maintaining long lasting relationships with existing and prospective customers. This position is responsible for helping customers to understand and address their financial needs, providing solutions by utilizing a consultative sales and service approach.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  1. Assess consumer and business financial needs and recommend appropriate Citizens State Bank products and services to fill those needs.
  2. Develop and manage standard to midsize customer relationships to include all types of consumer and business deposit products and services, meet regularly with customers to review and deepen their banking relationship, satisfy financial needs, maximize long-term customer satisfaction, and grow, serve, and retain the branch customer portfolio.
  3. Proactively contact prospective customers to establish and build new banking relationships.
  4. Actively participate in local community events and prospecting to increase branch awareness.
  5. Meet or exceed branch assigned sales goals.
  6. Process customer transactions, such as receiving deposits, verifying cash and endorsements, issuing receipts, receiving installment loan payments, making withdrawals, cashing checks, providing customer account printouts, scanning work for remote capture.
  7. Provide customer access to safe deposit boxes (where available); answer the telephone, transfer calls, and take messages; and type or key miscellaneous reports, logs, forms, documents, and other correspondence, as needed.
  8. Balance transactions at end of day and verify cash totals.
  9. Carry out opening and closing procedures of branch.
  10. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  1. Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Banking/Finance/Management or equivalent experience.
  2. Interpersonal skills to represent the Bank in a positive way in dealing with customers and other employees.
  3. Cash handling and balancing experience and accuracy highly preferred.
  4. Strong analytical and customer service skills and effective selling skills.
  5. Ability to use core processing and data systems, and other standard office equipment such as a computer, typewriter and 10-key calculator/adding machine.
  6. Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift 15 to 20 pounds.
  7. Scheduled Hours:  Full Time including Saturday rotation
