Platte Valley Bank, a family-owned financial institution proudly serving our communities for over 134 years, is seeking a dedicated Agriculture Loan Officer to join our team. Position Summary:
The Agriculture Loan Officer is responsible for evaluating, approving, and managing loans for agricultural clients. This includes funding for land, equipment, livestock, seed, and other operational needs. This role requires a strong understanding of both financial principles and the agricultural industry to guide sound lending decisions and build trusted client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze loan applications, financial statements, credit reports, and collateral to determine creditworthiness.
- Prepare and interpret financial documents such as balance sheets and cash flow statements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with farmers and agribusiness clients to understand their financial goals.
- Assess financial risks related to agricultural lending while ensuring compliance with banking policies and regulations.
- Conduct on-site visits to farms and ag operations to evaluate performance and verify assets.
- Ensure proper loan documentation and adherence to federal agricultural lending laws and internal policies.
- Monitor loan performance, assist with restructuring if necessary, and manage delinquent accounts.
- Prepare internal reports including loan classifications and large borrower summaries for the Board of Directors.
- Stay informed about agricultural trends, commodity pricing, and market developments.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Previous banking or lending experience, with a preference for agricultural lending.
- Knowledge of farming practices, agribusiness operations, and financial analysis.

- Commitment to high-quality customer service.
- Familiarity with Moody’s Analytics (formerly Web Equity Manager) is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
