GENERAL SUMMARY

The Retail Banker provides customer services to new and established Frontier customers, performs deposit processing, opening of new accounts and account maintenance and fields inquiries and requests for consumer and mortgage loans.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provide professional, efficient and courteous customer service by identifying the needs of new and existing customers. Proactively promote and generate new lending and deposit relationships via knowledge of banking products and the ability to match those products and services to the customers needs.
  • Open accounts for new and existing customers and prepare new account paperwork, applications and request the required identification.
  • Maintain customer accounts. Assist customers with general account and product information requests. Prepare check orders, transfers and field service charge inquiries.
  • Assists customers with all teller transactions including deposits, withdrawals, and payments.
  • Identify and escalate transactions or information related to suspicious activity to the BSA department. Perform duties according to established bank policies and procedures to comply with bank controls and regulatory guidelines.
  • Fields inquiries and processes requests for consumer and mortgage loans. Assists mortgage lending officers with portfolio loans.
  • Assist in community awareness events to increase bank outreach and foster new business opportunities.
  • General reception duties including but not limited to: answering the main phone line, scanning and indexing documents, and ordering supplies.
  • Provides support to other departments as needed during peak times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  1. Knowledge of teller processes and procedures and strong knowledge of new account opening, closing and maintenance.
  2. Ability to communicate effectively with internal employees, management and team members.
  3. Ability to consistently work to improve performance and job satisfaction.
  4. Ability to pay close attention to detail and work with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
  5. Ability to create an organized, efficient work environment.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Customer service experience.
  3. Two years minimum new account and teller experience.

Must be able to read reports, see computer screen

Hearing:

Must be able to communicate with Customers and co-workers

Standing/Walking:

Must be able to run errands for the bank, make large quantities of copies.

Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling:

Must be able to count vault cash and inventory supplies. 

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing:

Must be able to lift and put away supplies.

Fingering/Grasping/Feeling:

Must be able to use computer, count cash and process teller work.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negotiable amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry or otherwise move objects. Job involves sitting most of the time and walking and standing some of the time.
