Join Our Team as an Information Systems Technician!

 

Do you have a passion for technology and problem-solving? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same? Our Norfolk branch is seeking a skilled Information Systems Technician to join & play a diverse role on our team!

 

Primary Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Troubleshooting IT help desk calls to resolve application, equipment, and other end user application and technical issues.
  • Assist in maintaining network and system security.
  • Perform installation and maintenance of desktop/laptop computer systems and associated software and peripheral devices.
  • Maintain and develop documentation and procedures, sharing knowledge and effectively communicating with team members and management.
  • Assist in the support and administration of network cabling (install, terminate, and troubleshoot), telephone/voicemail systems, video conferencing, and multi-media audio visual equipment.
  • Communicate to Senior Vice President of Information Technology with recommendations for hardware and software needs.
  • Assist in maintaining asset management, including an inventory of all computers and peripheral devices.
  • Provide direction and information to vendors, consultants, and independent contractors as required.
  • As assigned, completes special projects.
  • Other duties as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Computer Sciences, Technology, or other IT related degree and/or relevant experience preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Operating Systems and software preferred
  • Preference for candidates with CompTIA A+, Security+, and/or Microsoft certifications.
  • Have a passion for IT and have the willingness to learn new concepts.
  • Ability to relate to and communicate effectively with customers and Bank employees at all levels.
  • Punctual attendance during scheduled working hours required. Occasional after-hours support is required.
  • Occasional travel required which may include overnight lodging.
  • Strong ethical values and commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
  • Normal daily physical activities to include: walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and occasionally lifting 5-50 pounds.

 

Relationships:

  • Reports to the Senior Vice President of Information Technology.
  • Will work closely with other IT and Operations employees and is to conduct relationships in a manner that will enhance the overall image and reputation of the bank.
  • Will be called upon from time to time to participate with community organizations and in community projects.
