The Business Banking Relationship Manager is responsible for the acquisition of new business banking clients and the expansion and retention of existing relationships. This role focuses on understanding clients' financial needs and delivering tailored banking solutions, including deposit products, loans, and treasury management services. A deep knowledge of clients' financial needs and the Bank’s products, including deposit, treasury, and private banking solutions, is essential. This position requires a proactive relationship builder who thrives on developing new business opportunities and providing exceptional client service. Additionally, there is an emphasis on active community involvement, fostering relationships within the local business landscape to identify and support the financial aspirations of community members, thereby contributing to the Bank's reputation as a trusted partner in the area.

Education and Experience Required: 
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field strongly preferred.  Equivalent experience in related fields may be considered in lieu of formal education.  Requires 3-5 years of experience managing high value private or commercial banking relationships, and developing, structuring, underwriting, and negotiating, complex credit transactions. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary advisor for business clients, managing new and existing relationships by understanding their unique goals and recommending suitable financial products and services. 
  • Business Development: Actively seek new business opportunities through networking, community involvement, and strategic prospecting. Develop strategies to increase deposits and cross-sell the bank’s products and services. 
  • Financial Advisory: Provide sound financial advice to clients, including assessing their financial status and recommending appropriate banking solutions. Have a solid understanding of cash flow management, business credit, and basic financial analysis. 
  • Cross-Selling and Referrals: Identify and capitalize on cross-selling opportunities for lending and other banking products. Collaborate with internal partners to ensure comprehensive client service. 
  • Portfolio Management: Monitor the profitability and performance of assigned client portfolios, ensuring compliance with bank policies and procedures. Manage the non-credit risk for clients and enhance relationship profitability. 
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across the organization to deliver seamless service and support to clients, ensuring all client needs are met effectively. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
